“If you enjoy your cosmic horror laced with small town fundamentalist mania, familial bonds, and a touch of goth rebellion the likes of which would make Robert Smith proud, you’ll thoroughly enjoy Thomas’ tale of a teenaged heroine turned abductee icon. A Thin Veil of the Cosmos… is a heck of a lot of fun!”
— Kenzie Jennings, Splatterpunk Award- nominated author of Reception & Always Listen To Her Hurt
This book’s subtitle captures the essence of the story exceedingly well: A Case of High Strangeness and Alien Abduction Through the Eyes of a Goth Teen. At its heart, this is a coming of age story about a young girl (Abby) who is struggling through life and growing up in a dysfunctional family. Her mom has become a religious zealot and doomsday prophet whose constant judgement is crippling their relationship, and her stepdad is sympathetic to Abby’s plight but too meek to do anything about it. The author handles the family dynamic with tremendous skill, and all of the characters are well developed. Against this backdrop, the author weaves in elements of transcendental meditation, metaphysical realms, alien abductions, and murderous cult fanatics. The result is an enjoyable story of high drama and strange wonder that is well worth the read!!

*6/1/24 UPDATE!*
A Thin Veil of the Cosmos has a new cover by @JCerveny. It is sick! The older Silver/Grey/Turquoise covers (triple face) were short lived and will only be available at shows in person (I don’t have many left). The Green (triple face) version is be online up until the end of July. The cover below (The Abby Horns) will the one available through Amazon until the end of time. (or I change my mind for an anniversary date or something epic happens) I changed it because I felt that the old cover didn’t represent Abigail with enough intensity. The new cover is an overindulgence in what I have always been looking for.
